Useful Detail From The Start

We help facilities managers, commercial landlords, contractors and business owners describe the work they need, from a risk assessment to the inspection and servicing of specific equipment. Our service information explains the scope to discuss before commissioning a visit.

A well-defined enquiry gives a specialist something useful to assess. We ask about the premises, existing records and any recent changes so that your request can be considered in its proper context.

The Whole Fire Safety Picture

Detection, escape, firefighting equipment and management procedures work together. A service report on one system should be retained alongside the fire risk assessment and other building records, with responsibility allocated for any follow-up actions.

We focus on business premises, including offices, schools, factories, warehouses, workshops and shared commercial buildings. Visits, scope and pricing are confirmed through the enquiry process.

OUR WORKING PRINCIPLES

Scope Before Specification.

Define the hazard, the building use and the purpose of the work before choosing a solution.

Evidence Before Assumptions.

Use product information and records. State limitations when concealed details or missing documents prevent a conclusion.

Records For The Next Person.

Keep equipment and actions identifiable so the next inspection, repair or review can build on what is known.

Standards And Responsibilities

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 sets out the wider responsibilities for workplace fire safety in England. The responsible person retains their duties when appointing outside assistance.

Service specifications should consider the relevant current guidance, including BS 5839-1 for commercial alarms, BS 5266-1 for emergency lighting, BS 5306-3 for portable extinguisher maintenance and BS 8214 for fire-resisting and smoke control doors.

Refer to government workplace guidance for the general duties. Our buyer FAQs and service index explain the questions to raise for a particular system.

How Your Enquiry Is Handled

With your agreement, an enquiry may be passed to a suitable local firm so it can respond to your request. Before commissioning work, confirm the proposed provider’s competence, scope, terms and any project-specific evidence you require.
